A curious incident of the dog in the night time

A dog is man's best friend but not when he is in an aircraft ready for take-off.

According to CNN-IBN, an aircraft came to halt because of a dog.
With a "spiritual" co-incidence, the Kingfisher plan hit a Black Dog.

It seems the dog took fancy to the aircraft and wanted to relieve himself.
Why nobody mentions about the fate of the dog. Where is Maneka Gandhi?

Train the pilots for Indian conditions, will you ? They should take a cue from US Air force which is devising a Flight Simulator using traffic data from Indian roads. Alrite, I made this one up. But think about it.

As Forrest Grrrrump would say life is a dog! You never know which aircraft will come and hit you.
That's all I have to say about that.

Treadmill

Life feels like a treadmill.
I keep running faster and faster to stay where I am.
I need to find the stop button to slow down, step back and re-assess.

Have you felt like that ever? Do you know where your stop button is?

A Letter

He will have to learn, I know, that all men are not just and are not true.

But teach him if you can, the wonder of books..
but also give him quiet time to ponder the eternal mystery of birds in the sky, bees in the sun and flowers on a green hillside.

In school, teach him it is far more honorable to fall than to cheat.....

Teach to have faith in his own ideas, even if everyone tells him he is wrong.

Teach him to be gentle with gentlepeople and tough with the tough.

Try to give my son the strength not to follow the crowd when everyone getting on the bandwagon...

Teach him to listen to all men; but teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of truth, and take only the good that comes through.

Teach him, if you can, how to laugh when he is sad...

Teach him there is no shame in tears.

Teach him to scoff at cynics and to be beware of too much sweetness..

Teach him to sell his brawn and brain to highest bidders, but never to put a price on his heart and soul.

Teach him to close his ears to a howling mob.. and stand and fight if thinks he is right.

Treat him gently, but do not cuddle him, because only the test of fire makes fine steel.

Let him have the courage to be impatient..

Let him have the patience to be brave.

Teach him always to have sublime faith in himself, because then he will have faith in humankind.

This is a big order, but see what you can do. . He is such a fine little fellow my son!

Rules of Innovation

No surprise that innovation rules coming from Google.
What surprises me that I found this on Rediff !

My favourite bit:

After September 11, one of our researchers, Krishna Bharat, would go to 10 or 15 news sites each day looking for information about the case. And he thought, Why don't I write a program to do this? So Krishna, who's an expert in artificial intelligence, used a Web crawler to cluster articles." "He later emailed it around the company. My office mate and I got it, and we were like, 'This isn't just a cool little tool for Krishna. We could add more sources and build this into a great product.' That's how Google News came about.
